Herbie Mann

Herbie  played mostly bop jazz in the fifties, got really popular in the sixties and turned to pop in the seventies. His first hit was Coming Home Baby in 1961 and during the years he worked with everybody in the business from Bill Evans to Chick Corea, Willie Bobo and Roy Ayers. He owned the Embryo label, distributed by Cotillion (an Atlantic division).
